your linear expectations
i will knot

the memory of feathers and leaves of spring
the memory of green blades will sting

to fill a lack of luster
for movement,
or color
you will invoke fever dreams

but the darkness will answer,
a darkwall
a dark veil
a darkness appointed as night

and the starkness will blister,
a starkfall
a stark wail
a starkness appropriated as white

and the dark and white
will i appoint as your only counselor.
